It is important, that we as educators, instruct our students, not only
to research and complete their assignments, but also to critique the information that they are about to use in their research.
Educators always instruct students to evaluate and critique written sources but never electronic sources. We, as educators,
need to teach our students to evaluate and critique media.
A good way to evaluate electronic media is by using rubrics that have
been design specially to evaluate electronic media. I found a web page that contains web evaluation rubric for secondary grades.
The use of these rubrics helps our students to become responsible reviewers of information
on the web. It also helps them to select appropriate and valid resources
for their research. Following are examples of rubrics used by students to evaluate websites.
